...The Georgia Racing Heritage
graphic wall presents all the different types of racing in Georgia. This wall
will depict the heritage of
racing in Georgia in the display of a large montage of racing images as well as
many Georgia racing artifacts, license plates and street
signs. These items will be hung from the ceiling, pinned off the wall and
imbedded in the floor. There will also be three monitors in the
wall playing highlights and even live races from Georgia oval tracks, road
courses, and drag strips.
The Georgia Racing Heritage
scrapbook wall spotlights the personalities, technical innovations, drivers,
mechanical wizards, outlaws, showdowns and legends as they happened in Georgia.
Milestones will be displayed in scrapbook format on the wall. Three computer
terminals allow guests to delve into the Thunder Road Archives or visit the
many racing related web pages. Three overhead monitors allow other guests to
see this information as well. |

...Entering the Hall of Fame, the
guests are totally surrounded by sights and sounds suggesting the motion of a
vehicle speeding down a dark country road. A white line speeds toward them as
they hear rushing wind and tires on pavement. A false perspective created by
diminishing portals (abstract metal silhouettes of tree and foliage,
dramatically lit) makes the road seem to stretch into the distance. Above the
horizon, a full moon glows in a field of stars. The illusion disintegrates as
the guests move forward to explore the exhibits in the room, including photos
trophies relating to the Hall of Fame inductees.
